Genmitsu 3020-PRO Ultra review

An all-metal desktop CNC with an upgraded spindle on an ER11 collet, 7.3 Nm stepper motors and a 4040 Y-axis profile, sold by SainSmart.

Why this one leads

SainSmart moves to an all-metal frame, a 4040 Y profile and larger steppers, which address the flex that limits cheap 3018 machines.

The spindle

An ER11 collet gives you access to standard tooling. Check the 710 W figure in the table against the listing you receive, since the bullets call it upgraded and give no number.

A materials list to discount

Soft titanium and carbon fiber appear in the bullets. Dust and rigidity limit a desktop machine long before the list does. Start with wood, plastics and aluminum.

Where it earns its place, and where it falls short

Strengths

  • ER11 collet takes common end mills
  • Most ratings on this shelf
  • Takes laser modules too

Compromises

  • The table lists 230 V, so confirm the US supply
  • Shallow Z height is typical of the class
  • Materials list is a marketing list

The listing names a 1/8 inch ER11. Other sizes need a matching ER11 collet.

Does it run on US power?

The table shows 230 V. Ask the seller to confirm a 120 V supply before you buy.
