Genmitsu

A router, bits for its collet, and a tilting rotary

The Genmitsu router

The 3020-PRO Ultra is the best-described router of the three reviewed here mechanically — dual HG15 linear guides, a 710 W spindle from 6,500 to 30,000 rpm, a 1/8 in ER11 collet — and the only one without a published working area.

Genmitsu bits and rotaries

A ten-piece set of V-bits on 1/8 in shanks, matching the router’s collet; and the MD18 rotary chuck for Genmitsu’s L8 and Z6 engravers, with a 0–30° tilt for tapered objects.

What Genmitsu claims

The rotary’s under-0.01 mm accuracy and 10,000 mm/min come without conditions, and the bits are alloy steel rather than carbide.

Genmitsu on the MakerVerdict bench

  • Genmitsu 3020-PRO Ultra, 710 W spindle, HG15 rails

    No working area published · all-metal with dual HG15 linear guides · 710 W spindle, 6,500–30,000 rpm · 1/8 in ER11 collet · offline controller · 60 mm steppers, 7.3 Nm

The dearest of the three routers on this site, an all-metal machine on dual HG15 linear guides with a 710 W variable-speed spindle and an offline controller, whose listing claims 1.5 mm aluminium cuts per pass but gives no working area.

Best for: A maker moving into aluminium and hardwood parts who values rigidity and will check the working area in Genmitsu’s documentation.
