The best water washable resins for 2026

Water washable resin cleans off a print with water instead of isopropyl alcohol, which removes the solvent smell and cost from resin printing — and moves the care to the wash water. The curing wavelength has to match the printer, as for any resin. Volume is published in grams or litres, with density between the two. The recommended exposure times are given for common printers and differ from the same maker's standard resin. Wash and cure advice is where these resins are particular: prints can absorb water if soaked too long and crack later, so the maker's washing time and full drying before curing matter. Brittleness is a known trade-off, and thin parts may be more fragile than in a standard grade. The finish and colour affect detail as with any resin. Disposal guidance is essential: water that has washed uncured resin contains it, and the maker's instruction — usually curing the water in sunlight or UV before filtering — applies instead of pouring it away.
