Pattex Made at Home glue gun, 11 mm sticks, about 190 °C review

A craft glue gun for 11 mm sticks, sold with six, working at about 190 °C and ready in eight to ten minutes, whose glue sets in two minutes and dries transparent.

The bottom line A glue-maker’s glue gun, described more by its glue than its gun: temperature, setting time, transparency. The long heat-up and missing power, stand and nozzle details are the trade-offs.

The Pattex Made at Home listing, bullet by bullet

Five bullets: ready in 8 to 10 minutes, strong adhesion after 2 minutes and no dripping; suitable for almost all materials and drying transparent; high melt output and a working temperature of about 190 °C; even, fatigue-free gluing for repairs, DIY and school; and a set of one gun and six 11 mm sticks.

A long wait on the Pattex

Eight to ten minutes before the first bead. Most guns here heat in minutes or seconds. For a planned repair it hardly matters; for a quick fix, it is the figure that decides.

Described from the glue side

Pattex is a glue brand, and the listing reads like it: setting time, transparency, material range. The gun itself — wattage, nozzle, stand — gets almost no description.

11 mm sticks

The larger diameter lays more glue per stick and is widely sold. With only six in the set, refills come early.

Availability

At the last look-up, the German, French and Spanish Amazon stores were asking 11 € to 16 €.

It is sold in the American Amazon store as well, in its own currency, which the euro figures above leave out on purpose.

The asking price on the Italian Amazon store ran past 1.6× the lowest country’s. A gap that size points to goods shipped in from abroad rather than a local seller, so that offer is left out of the figures above.

The British Amazon catalogue lists the product, yet no seller was offering it.
