The best filament storage for 2026

Filament absorbs moisture from the air, and a wet spool prints with stringing, bubbles and weak layers; storage keeps dried filament dry. The first figure is spool capacity and the spool size it accepts, since wide spools and cardboard spools do not fit every box. The seal type divides the shelf: vacuum bags that remove the air, clip-lid boxes with a gasket, and cabinets for a whole collection. The desiccant method — loose silica beads, rechargeable canisters, colour-changing packs — decides how often the box needs attention and whether the beads can be dried again.
