A 3 litre benchtop ultrasonic cleaner with two transducers at 40 kHz, 120 W of ultrasonic power and a 200 W heater adjustable to 80 °C, a 0–30 minute timer and a stainless steel lid.

The bottom line The one cleaner of the four built for a bench rather than a dresser: 3 litres, a heater, a 30-minute timer and published power figures. It says nothing about a basket, a drain or the liquids that may be heated in it.

The VEVOR 3 l listing, bullet by bullet

Five bullets: two built-in transducers at 40 kHz, for oil, wax and stains in holes and cracks, with a 3 litre tank and quiet running; heating adjustable from 0 to 80 °C and a working time of 0 to 30 minutes; a 3 l tank, 200 W heating, 120 W ultrasonic power and 40 kHz, in 304 stainless steel with integrated construction; a carry handle, heat dissipation, rubber feet and a stainless lid; and uses from glasses and jewellery to hospitals, clinics and factories.

120 W of ultrasound and 200 W of heat are stated separately. The three other cleaners reviewed here publish no power at all. Separating them tells a buyer how much of the power is cleaning and how much is warming.

Heat, and the question it raises

Warm liquid loosens grease and wax, which the second bullet names as the reason for the heater. Heat also changes what liquids are safe to use, and the listing is silent on liquids entirely.

Three litres invites small parts, and parts resting directly on the tank floor are the ones a basket exists to lift. The product photograph shows a mesh basket in the tank; the listing text neither describes it nor says it is included.

Availability

At the last look-up, the German, French and Italian Amazon stores were asking 46 € to 57 €.

It is sold in the American Amazon store as well, in its own currency, which the euro figures above leave out on purpose.

Questions makers ask before buying

Does the VEVOR 3 l cleaner heat the liquid?

Yes. The second bullet gives an adjustable heating temperature of 0 to 80 °C, from a 200 W heater according to the third bullet.

Which liquids can go in the VEVOR tank?

The listing does not say. Heating a liquid changes what is safe to use, so the maker’s manual is the reference before using anything other than water.
