It allows finer detail, but it is not the accuracy of the finished part. A screen’s resolution and pixel pitch describe the smallest step the printer can project; how closely a part matches its model also depends on the resin, the exposure, shrinkage, supports and calibration.
Resin printers are sold on figures such as 8K, 12K and 16K, and those figures describe the screen, not the object that comes off the platform.
What the screen figures mean
Resolution is the number of pixels across and down the screen. Pixel pitch is the size of each pixel, usually given in micrometres, and it sets the smallest feature the printer can project in the plane of a layer. Layer height is a separate setting that controls the vertical step.
What else decides the result
Exposure. Light spreads slightly beyond the pixel, and an exposure that is too long fattens fine features. Resin behaviour. Resins shrink as they cure, by amounts their makers may or may not publish. Supports and orientation. A part that bends while printing ends up out of shape however fine the screen. Calibration. Printers need their exposure tuned for each resin, which is why resin makers publish exposure tables.
When more resolution helps
For miniatures and small, detailed parts, a finer pixel pitch does show in surface texture and sharp edges. For larger functional parts, calibration and resin choice usually matter more than the last step up in resolution.
How this site reports it
Screen resolution, pixel pitch and minimum layer height are reported as machine specifications. None of them is described as a tolerance, and no page promises that a part will measure within a given distance of its model.

The accuracy of a finished object depends on the material, the calibration and the design. This page reports the maker’s figure as a specification and never as a guaranteed precision.

Is pixel pitch more useful than resolution?
Pixel pitch is the more comparable figure, because resolution depends on screen size. Two printers with the same resolution but different screens project pixels of different sizes.
Where can accuracy be measured?
On a printed calibration part, measured with a caliper. That is a result of the whole process, not a specification a listing can publish.
