Why do my resin prints still show layer lines?

Why resin layer lines show

Each layer is a flat slice. On shallow slopes, the step between layers is spread across a wide area and becomes visible. Thicker layer heights make each step larger.

Thinner layers on detailed models. Anti-aliasing and blur settings in the slicer. Orientation: tilting a part so large surfaces are not nearly flat to the build plate.

Mechanical causes of resin layer lines

A loose build plate or Z-axis play shifts layers. Peel forces on large layers can move a part slightly. Worn release films increase those forces.

Temperature and exposure in resin prints

Resin that warms or cools during a long print cures differently, which can show as bands. Stable room temperature or a heated vat helps.

Where screen resolution fits

Screen resolution and pixel pitch describe detail within a layer. Layer lines are about the vertical steps, and a finer screen does not remove them.
