Getting the first layer right for PETG

PETG does not like being squashed as hard as PLA; a first layer that is too close can drag and build up on the nozzle. The slicer’s PETG profile and the filament maker’s temperatures are the starting point.

Plate fit still comes first

Whatever the surface, the plate must match the printer’s bed size and mounting, and its magnet and coating have heat limits the maker publishes. A plate described as compatible with a named printer is the safer purchase than one described only by size.
