RATTMMOTOR 3018-Pro Max, 300 × 180 × 45 mm travel review

A 3-axis 3018 router whose title prints the machine’s 420 × 350 × 270 mm outer size and whose second bullet gives the actual 300 × 180 × 45 mm working area, with a 24 V 775 spindle and GRBL control.

The bottom line A basic 3018 described with more electrical detail than most — stepper current, torque, spindle voltage and speed — and less mechanical detail: no rails, no wattage, no limit switches. Read the second bullet, not the title, for its size.

The 3018-Pro Max listing, bullet by bullet

Six bullets: a welded aluminium alloy structure with an acrylic baffle that stops chips flying; a package with the machine, control board, 775 ER11 spindle, ten flat-bottom cutters, a washer and instructions, a 30 × 18 × 4.5 cm working area and a 42 × 35 × 27 cm housing; a 775 spindle motor at 24 V and 20,000 rpm with Nema 17 steppers at 1.3 A, 0.25 Nm and 2.1 Ω; Windows XP to 11, with a recommendation against Apple products; pre-assembled core parts and Z axis with a setup time given as “about 20” and no unit; and plastics, soft aluminium, wood, acrylic, PVC and PCB, with hard metal and jade excluded.

Two sizes on the RATTMMOTOR page

420 × 350 × 270 mm is the box the machine occupies; 300 × 180 × 45 mm is what it can cut. The title leads with the larger figure. On a router, the working area is the dimension that decides the job, and it is in the second bullet.

Laser wording on a router listing

The first and sixth bullets speak of blocking the laser and of a laser engraving machine. The package list names a spindle and cutters and no laser module, so the page reads this as a router described partly in laser vocabulary.

What the 3018-Pro Max listing omits

Spindle watts, rail type, feed rate and limit switches. Each matters on a router: the first three decide what it can cut and how fast, the last whether a crash is stopped before it damages the frame.

Availability

At the last look-up, the German, French, Italian and Spanish Amazon stores were asking 164 € to 176 €.

It is sold in the British Amazon store as well, in its own currency, which the euro figures above leave out on purpose.

The American Amazon store returned no entry, so the buy button there opens a search rather than a missing page.

Every figure here is Keepa’s reading on the date this page was last updated. Stock and prices can change at any time.

Where it earns its place, and where it falls short

Strengths

  • Publishes a working area in three axes and separates it from the housing size
  • Nema 17 steppers with current, holding torque and phase resistance given
  • Core components and the Z axis arrive pre-assembled, with ten flat-bottom cutters in the box

Compromises

  • The title’s 420 × 350 × 270 mm can be misread as the working area
  • No spindle wattage, rails, feed rate or limit switches
  • Windows only, with a recommendation against Apple computers; the setup time in the fifth bullet lacks its unit

Questions makers ask before buying

How big a piece can it machine?

The second bullet gives a 30 × 18 × 4.5 cm working area. The 420 × 350 × 270 mm in the title is the housing size, not the travel.

Can it cut aluminium?

The sixth bullet names soft aluminium among its materials and excludes hard metal and jade. No depth of cut or feed rate is given.
