STREND PRO Hot wire frame cutter, 143 cm length, 30 cm height review

A 200 W hot wire cutter on a frame with a cutting length of up to 143 cm and a height of 30 cm, adjustable to 90° vertically and 75° diagonally, for EPS insulation boards, XPS and similar foams.

The bottom line The only one of the five with its cutting envelope stated — 143 cm by 30 cm — and adjustable angles for bevels. It does not describe how the wire is heated or tensioned, which are the two controls a wire cutter is used through.

The STREND PRO 2120084 listing, bullet by bullet

Five bullets: a 200 W “motor” cutting EPS insulation boards, XPS foam, Kaizen foam, Styropor and Styrodur; a cutting length of up to 143 cm and a height of 30 cm; straight, diagonal, parallel and angled cuts with angles up to 90° vertical and 75° diagonal; a robust, durable build with clean edges; and a box containing the cutter, a cutting wire, a frame, a socket adapter and a cleaning brush.

A wire cutter sized for boards

143 cm of cutting length and 30 cm of height. With angle settings added, the STREND PRO is built for cutting boards to size, which the four handheld and tabletop cutters reviewed alongside it are not.

A “motor” that heats a wire

The first bullet speaks of a 200 W motor. A hot wire cutter heats a wire rather than turning anything, so the figure is best read as the cutter’s power, and that is how this review reports it.

Heat and tension, both unstated on the STREND PRO page

A wire too cold drags and a wire too hot melts a wide channel, and a slack wire wanders. The listing describes neither heat control nor tensioning, and both are the adjustments a user will make most often.

Availability

At the last look-up, the German and Italian Amazon stores were asking 226 € to 235 €.

The asking price on the Spanish Amazon store ran past 1.6× the lowest country’s. A gap that size points to goods shipped in from abroad rather than a local seller, so that offer is left out of the figures above.

The British and French Amazon catalogues list the product, yet no seller was offering it.

The American Amazon store returned no entry, so the buy button there opens a search rather than a missing page.
