Pixel pitch describes the screen, not the tolerance of the part · review
ELEGOO Mars 5, 4K mono LCD review
A 4K mono-LCD resin printer with one-click auto-levelling, a sensor that detects residue before it damages the screen, and an overheat cut-out, whose listing does not publish the pixel pitch.
The bottom line The listing is built around protecting the printer from its most expensive failures — a crushed screen, an overheated light source — and it describes those protections precisely. It is thin on the figures a resin buyer compares: pixel pitch, vat, film and ventilation.
The Mars 5 listing, bullet by bullet
Five bullets: one-click automatic levelling for users of every level; smarter printing, with a mechanical sensor that detects residue to prevent LCD damage and alarms for low resin and levelling failure; a one-click self-check of components before each print; a 4K mono LCD with an advanced COB light source; and overheat protection that stops the print and sounds an alarm when the LED temperature exceeds 80 °C, supported by a cooling system.
Protections before specifications
Three of five bullets describe what stops a failure. Residue detection guards the screen, the self-check guards against a faulty component, and the 80 °C cut-out guards the light source. For a resin printer these are real concerns, because a single cured fragment under the plate can crack a screen.
4K without its pitch
The resolution figure describes the screen’s pixel count; the pixel pitch, which sets the smallest feature in the plane of a layer, is not published. This page does not derive it.
What resin printing still needs
The listing does not mention the vat, the release film, gloves or ventilation. Uncured resin is an irritant, and the resin maker’s safety data sheet decides how it is handled; the printer’s cooling fan is not a fume extractor.
Availability
At the last look-up, the German, French, Italian and Spanish Amazon stores were asking 209 € to 230 €.
It is sold in the British Amazon store as well, in its own currency, which the euro figures above leave out on purpose.
The American Amazon catalogue lists the product, yet no seller was offering it.

Where it earns its place, and where it falls short
Strengths
A mechanical sensor that detects residue in the vat before the plate presses it into the screen, as the second bullet describes
Alarms for low resin level and levelling failure, and a one-click self-check before each print
An overheat protection that stops the print when the LED temperature exceeds 80 °C
Compromises
No pixel pitch published, so the 4K figure cannot be compared with printers that have a different screen size
No information on the vat, the release film or ventilation for resin
The smallest build volume of the two resin printers in this family

Questions makers ask before buying
Does 4K make the prints accurate?
It describes the screen, not the part. Without a published pixel pitch the figure cannot even be compared across screen sizes, and the accuracy of a finished print depends on the resin, exposure and calibration.
What does the residue detection protect?
The LCD screen. The second bullet says a mechanical sensor detects residue so that a cured fragment is not pressed into the screen by the platform.
8K mono LCD, 7.1 inch · 22 µm XY resolution · 165 × 72 × 170 mm build volume · load up to 10 kg · Lychee, Chitubox and Tango supported
A 7.1 inch 8K mono-LCD resin printer that publishes a 22 µm XY resolution and a 165 × 72 × 170 mm build volume, and supports several third-party slicers.
Best for: A miniature printer where a published 22 µm pitch and a choice of slicer matter more than build area.
Low-temperature PCL, 1.75 mm · 2 speeds and 2 temperature levels · cordless, USB-C charging · TouchSafe design · 37 m of PCL in 12 colours included
A cordless 3D pen for children that draws with low-temperature PCL filament, with two speeds and two temperature levels, and a maker’s note that it is used according to the instructions and under supervision.
Best for: A younger child’s first 3D pen, used with an adult nearby, where a low-temperature filament is the point.
Cool-touch design, no external hot parts · one button · reverse function · cordless, USB-C charging · 72 filament strands · ages 6 to 13
A cordless 3D pen for children aged 6 to 13 with a cool-touch design and no external hot parts, sold with 72 filament strands and a guide of ten projects, whose listing names neither the filament material nor a temperature.
Best for: A child from six making simple projects from a guided activity book, with refills bought from the same maker.
