The LaserPair laser glasses listing, bullet by bullet

Five bullets: OD > 7 at 180–534 nm and 900–1095 nm and OD > 5 at 740–900 nm, with wavelengths from 355 to 1064 nm named; uses in engraving, blue and green lasers and tattoo removal, with an instruction to match eyewear to the exact laser wavelength and power; CE marking by DIN CERTCO and EN207/A1 compliance as stated for this model; a lightweight full-rim frame with side protection and ventilation that fits over glasses; and an orange polycarbonate lens with a hard case and soft pouch.

LaserPair’s two densities

OD > 7 and OD > 5. The glasses are not rated evenly across their range. The 740–900 nm band carries the lower figure, so a laser in that band sits under a different number from one at 450 or 1064 nm.

LaserPair’s own instruction

The second bullet tells buyers to match eyewear exactly to their laser’s wavelength and power. It is the same rule this site applies: the laser’s maker publishes the wavelength, and the glasses’ marking is read against it.

The LaserPair lens, as photographed

The printing on the lens differs from the bullets. As far as it can be read in the product photograph, one lens gives 180–534 nm OD7+, 740–1100 nm OD5+ and 900–1095 nm OD7+; the other gives 315–534 nm DIRM LB6, 740–1100 nm DIRM LB5 and 900–1095 nm D LB6 + IRM LB7. The bullets give OD > 5 only for 740–900 nm and no LB levels. The marking on the glasses that arrive is the one to read against the laser’s data.

Availability

At the last look-up, the German, Italian and Spanish Amazon stores were asking roughly 47 €.

It is sold in the British Amazon store as well, in its own currency, which the euro figures above leave out on purpose.

The French Amazon catalogue lists the product, yet no seller was offering it.

The American Amazon store returned no entry, so the buy button there opens a search rather than a missing page.
